  • SBNF - T6 update

The reconstruction of the T-6 (Deep Creek) began
yesterday. The work is being performed by a local
contractor who won the job bid. As you may know, the
cement bridge spanning Deep Creek was damaged by last
winter's floods and the road has been closed since.
This bridge is vital to our OHV trail system as it
connects the Lake Arrowhead side of the forest to the
Big Bear side. It is the busiest OHV route on the
SBNF for motorcycles, ATV's and 4x4's.

Look for a reopening in late November.

It may be my poor eyesight, but San Gorgonio looks from my angle to be covered in snow already? Is this going to impede progress? And it's great news that someone is finally doing something!

San Gorgonio usually gets snow before anything else (tallest peak in Southern California) - shouldn't affect the work crew.

Now, if we can just keep people from _accidentally_ running over the closure signs and _accidentally_ running across the bridge, things should be on track. For the record - my suggestion of Claymores to upper management was rejected

Try recommending bouncing betties next time.

They don't "sound" as bad. Kind of like a california proposition commercial. Package the idea in a way that completely confuses the issue enough so that they vote your way.
