Don't know how much it's changed. We did a road inventory of the Silverlake Trail (2N17X) about 6 months ago - it was pretty rutted out. My guess is that Cleghorn is equally changed. I'll look through my AAT logs - see if the Adopt-a-Trail club for Cleghorn (Drifters, if my coffee lacking brain is working) has written anything up.

Where abouts is it located? My Jeep has been growing cob webs and is in need of some new dirt.

Cleghorn Road off ramp is about one tenth of a mile south of where Highway 138 intersects Interstate 15. If you are heading north on I-15, you exit the freeway at Cleghorn Road, turn right and the trail head is right there.

About an hour, hour and a half? Depends where in LA. I think the trail was rated easy to moderate, but it hasn't been open for at least a year. Who knows how it's changed with all the rain.

Let's call it "moderate to difficult" now. Nice thing about Cleghorn is it's a fire road that winds up the hill, with fire breaks that cut across the tougher sections. So if you find a section that you don't like - easy to go around.

NOT a trail to wheel single!

Cleghorn has always been fun for me
one of a freind of mine favorite long day trips is to drop onto the trails and do Baldy Mesa, going under the 15 in the cahone pass and doing around 1 mile of freeway dropping onto cleghorn, from there we wheel on different trails untill we finally come out in big bear. During this time I think we barely do 3 miles of pavement.
I am So glad that cleghorn is open, now if a few more trails behind Arrowhead would open we can do a trip like that again.

No, it's not. I went by on my way to and from school and the gate is closed and locked, and there are still "POSTED:No motor vehicles" signs on the trail head board and by the gate. Why are you toying with us, Jeff?
