(Edited) memo from USFS for those who camp at yellow post sites in the San Bernardino National Forest:
At the Recreation Officers meeting yesterday, a decision was made
to no longer issue permits, or take reservations, for yellow post camping
sites. Yellow Post site camping will be on a first come - first served
basis. If someone is looking for a yp site, you can give them the
map, and they can start looking for an empty site. Adventure passes are
still required.
The california campfire permit is not required for a fire or bar-b-que at a
yp site.
YP sites are limited to a maximum of 8 persons at any one time.
