Well i went up rock springs from hesperia and made a left onto 173 and dam it was locked! So i had to run up vv's trail 17x! Sure it a hot trail with no trees this time of year!

Caltrans, in it's infinite wisdom decided to close the state highway rather than maintain it. A few of us tried to convince SB County to take it over, but the effort fell on deaf ears....SBCO Fire Dept. CERT volunteer

It is all about money. The state cannot afford to make it a 2 lane paved highway.
