Stoddard Valley OHV--proposed wind project

I was meeting with Brian Lynn, owner of Slash X in Stoddard Valley this weekend when Brian showed me a letter dated 2-10-10 that stated that the BLM has received a right of way application from Horizon Wind to place three temporary 164' anemometer masts to be used for wind testing and monitoring on public lands inside the Stoddard Valley Off Highway Vehicle Area.

We have thirty days to file comments from 2-10-10 with the BLM.

The letter states to contact Richard Rotte, Realty Specialist at (760) 252-6026 for further information.

ok, I am confused here.
Is this a post to encourage us to protest this or to encourage it?
I mean a wind farm that produces no pollution in Stoddard valley or a new coal fired generation plant spitting pollution. I am torn.

Wind power is cool. But there has got to be a better place to put it than the OHV park.

They fence off windmill farms and the land is no longer available for public use. There are millions of acres of BLM land that is not an open area for OHVs that wind farms can be built upon.
