The word is, closed till 30-Sept-2010. Do you think they'll reopen in a year, or is this closure likely to be extended after some review?

Holy crap, they just about closed the whole forest. My guess is parts of it will be open sooner and areas will remain closed longer. It just depends on the risk involved. They don't want any dead trees falling on people. Look for lots of landslides if we have a wet winter.

I'm not as hopeful as Roger . . . take a look at Rowher . . . it's still closed after 2yrs and I don't think there was more than one tree along that entire stretch.
