Burned Cars in the desert… Dale and the New Dale mining district!

We found a couple of burned cars close to the sand dunes…

What happens with the “Do not trash California” attitude?

What options do we have to remove them?

There is some form to report those to the National Forest Service, even that they are not inside the park? Are they going to do something about it?

What about the military station at 29 Palms? Do they care?

What other law enforcement authority we can contact to let them now about it?

It is OK to offer them some help? Like towing those cars close to pavement?

Do you have any advice? Please post some ideas that I can use to take care of the problem… thanks a lot folks!!!

Roberto, if they're within the boundaries of a National Forest, I can pass along the information - can you be more specific as to location?

they are not, they are located at Dale and the New Dale mining district! far away from Joshua Tree National Park...few miles from pavement...

I reported them to the following link:

The land we were on is managed by BLM.

I think the right office to contact would be in Barstow

BLM and USFS have different upstream management. USFS is under the Dept of Agriculture, BLM is under the Dept of the Interior.

              Last resort:

Tow it to the nearest public road. but don't block the road with it. Sooner or later a CHP officer or a sheriff's deputey will come along a have it towed. (You didn't hear this from me!)

The burt cars are most likely stolen.

                Roberto!

You're in my back yard and don't say anything?? I know of the cars you speak...I also know of another area that is completely littered with abandoned cars.

Law enforcement doesn't get out to Old or New Dale areas much at all...keep us posted.
