Coyote Canyon/ Anza-Borrego Desert

Coyote Canyon and much of the Anza Borrego Desert has been officially closed off since June 1 to all human traffic (yes, even foot traffic!) so that the big horn sheep don't get stage fright during mating season. According to the official notice on the locked gate at the Anza entrance to Coyote Canyon, the park should be open to normal use as of September 30th.

Yep, it's the same every year, but a lot of people might not realize that. I didn't until I drove up to the locked gate for the first time.
