At the time of this post (2013) the gas station at Scotty's Castle has been closed for several years, and the Park Service has yet to find anyone who is willing to reopen and operate it. A roundtrip to some of the distant places along this road from the nearest gas at Stovepipe Wells or Panamint Springs could be over 200 miles. Plan accordingly and take extra gas.
