  • Just in case you were wondering

Hey, I'm doing the 'Mat' thing.
Ran across this website describing all the terms and meanings of the Jeep types. So in case you were wondering what a CJ or a TJ was.... http://4wheeldrive.about.com/cs/jeep/l/bljeepcodes.htm

I was actually looking for information on my jeep. If I had the vin number I was hoping to find out the specs on my jeep. No luck so far.
Things like transmission type, transfer case, axels and spline count, U joints sizes....

Good info. Here's a couple of more I have used in the past.
    Mostly for the older Jeeps.

I've heard that if you e-mail Jeep (DC) with your VIN #, they can/will send you a build sheet. Might help you with some of what you're looking for.

Bob, I went to the official Jeep Web site, followed the "contact us" and "customer assistance" links and filled in the form to request a build sheet for my 05 Jeep TJ. I got it by e-mail about 4 days later. Russ

Sorry Bob, I've been really busy lately and haven't been on much. I think part of it has to do with the fact that I don't have time to wheel and then I start feeling guilty spending tons of time on MJR. I don't want to be branded a Web Wheeler, but it might come to that...

            Anyways, thanks for the links!!!!

                  I was afraid of that....

And to think I'll be showing up to the AAT BBQ in a car...!!?!!

I almost put the top on the Jeep today, but couldn't bring myself to do it. The bikini top came off the Jeep and the stock softtop (yes, the original from 97) is actually bolted back on, but not up. It's getting cooler in SoCal (at least here at the beach) which makes me happy because desert wheeling is possible but t the same time sad because the top goes on for the chilly drives to and from work every day!
