Either that, or the criminals would just learn how to shoot better.Erik

The average statistic of the typical criminal is that 1 out of 5 shots from a criminal with a gun will hit a moving target. The military is JUST what they need!!
Let's make the odd 1 out of every 3 shots hits the target, whether is moving or not O.oWTF Mate?

Not behind mandatory military service (I spent nearly 25 years in uniform and I know it's not for everyone), but some kind of national/public service program (to include an option to go in the military if qualified and desired) should be mandatory at age 18 or for immigrants for citizenship. It could be tied to a technical training program for those who do not go to college.
Anyhow, back to the issue of gun control, registration in the States differs by state. Here in Texas, we are not required to register our weapons, not many states require it. Even California only requires assault weapons to be registered, if I am not mistaken (never take anyone's comments on the Internet as gospel, do your homework and know for sure!). CNN has a good site for each state here, or try Packing.org for a good rundown on each state's laws.
I am a firm believer in the 2nd Amendment, and most gun control laws only restrict law abiding citizens from the right to carry. Oddly enough, criminals tend to ignore gun control laws, so they rarely have an effect on stopping crime. Actually, most studies have shown that gun control only increases crime, as Thomas Jefferson’s "Commonplace Book" reads, "laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."
Gun control...the ability to hit the target!
Cheers! M2

I copy that! every country that has taken the guns from the citizens has seen their crime rates skyrocket!
in Australia, where they just took em away not too long ago, they are having crime that they have never seen, home invasion robberies and the like, because the criminals know they are the only ones with the guns!
I would not want to live in some of those European countries right now, the muslim populations are on the rise, and the citizens have no gun rights. I remember just about ten years ago watching the "bad guys" go door to door in Jakarta, pulling people outta their houses into the streets and shooting them or striking them with the sword, now its a muslim state.
another good source: www.usconcealedcarry.com
if only the media would tell the public how many lives are saved everyday by citizens that carry guns...
oh yeah, that would be GOOD news, the media isn't interested in that.:gun: my rifle is not illegal, it's just undocumented... :gun:
