so being a vegan has nothing to do with not eating meat in general? because all the stuff you eat has fake meat anyway? acctually promoting eating meat by fooling people into thinking they are eating meat and trying to create things that taste like meat but without meat?
I know some Sammi guys that swear they own jeeps... but c'mon? isnt there a little bit of a denial problem here?
if you were grossed out by meat, or read the Jungle one too many times, or just didnt like the taste/consistency.... fine
I mean really, do what you want, I am just typing to type...
but I think you guys take this "bacon tree" thing a bit too far...
:gun: my rifle is not illegal, it's just undocumented... :gun:
I'm sure you found plenty of tofu recipes by now. You will notice that tofu is also listed as "bean curd" in Chinese cookbooks and recipes. But it will help to know that tofu comes in containers that are listed as regular, firm, and extra firm. Tofu is used in a lot of Chinese recipes and works well with strong flavored sauces. My favorite dish is Ma Po bean curd.
Also, I am a serious meat eater who likes all kinds of foods. I have an extra bedroom that is filled with 45+ trophies and plaques from food competitions and cookoffs. I could be the food answer man for MJR!

QUONG HOP & CO. EXPANDS RECALL OF TOFU
Quong Hop & Co. of South San Francisco, California is expanding their recall of tofu to the following code dates:
* 30 OZ SOY DELI ORGANIC NIGARI TOFU coded SEP 23 2007 through 11/28/2007
* 2 OZ SOY DELI TOFU (water packed) coded SEP 23 through 1/28/2007
* All SOY DELI BULK TOFU (10lb and 25lb) through 11/28/2007
* 16 OZ QUONG HOP TOFU (water packed) coded SEP 23 2007 (original)
* All varieties and sizes of SOY DELI TOFU coded DEC 17 2007 (original)
Extensive tests conducted by the Company at an outside lab found traces of the Listeria monocytogenes on the above listed 12oz, 30oz and bulk tofu (all packed on the same machine).
No traces of the bacteria were found on the Soy Deli Baked Tofu, Soy Deli Burgers, Soy Deli Hawaiian, Soy Deli Water Packed Tofu or Soy Deli 8oz Vacuum Packed Nigari.
The above listed products are being recalled because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short term symptoms such as high fever, sever headache, stiffness, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection in severe cases can cause miscarriages and still births among pregnant women.
The recalled "SOY DELI" and "QUONG HOP" brand products are distributed in the Midwest and West coast through supermarkets and natural food stores.
This expanded recall reflects product produced during the selected period. This is a precaution being taken to help ensure product safety.
The date code can be found on the front panel of all the aforementioned products printed in blue ink.
No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem. Soy Deli has taken rigorous steps to ensure the plant and its products are safe and of the highest quality possible.
The potential for contamination was first noted after a routine test by Washington State Department of Agriculture's Food Safety Program revealed the presence of Listeria monocytogenes in a 12 OZ vacuum pack package of "SOY DELI FIRM ORGANIC NIGARI TOFU". The company is voluntarily recalling all products produced during the same time period as this sampled product to ensure customer safety.
Consumers who have purchased the recalled products are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 650-553-9900, ext 22.
