  • This is how WE rock

Hey guys! RCRC (Rocket City Rock Crawlers), a local club went to Tellico this past weekend. I didn't go, because I had work, but one of the club photographers snapped a bunch of pictures...here's a link

    http://www.rocketcityrockcrawlers.co...akes/index.htm

OH, btw...Jake White is a photo FANATIC, so there are over 350 photos of this weekend alone...viewer beware!

But yeah...this is how we crawl in the south

Dude! You SOOOO should have posted this on the Trail Reports section. You may not have gone on the run, but this is COOL stuff.

This really makes me miss dense forests (I grew up in GA). I bet you don't see any AT (All Terrain) tires on any of those trails! It doesn't look like anyone airs down real low though. Is that because of the spin required for the muddy spots?

That's right! With the smoky mountains, that altitude (While we are ina drought) will stay pretty humid and damp year round. If you air down the tires, you'll just gum em up and with the combination of a damp surface like mud, and rocks, keeping your tires shed is a must. During the dryer seasons when it hasn't rained for long enough of a time that the humidity is really low, than you can air down. Or in the more southern parts, like the foothills of alabama, where it's not high enough for the humidity to matter (Remember that's in the smokey mountains...heat rises...humidity is merely heated water vapor ^.^)

BTW, I'm sorry about not posting this in the trail reports. Maybe somebody could move it for me?

Looks like a great trip. While I was browsing the pics, I saw this:

What does the square tubing do (besides giving more lift to the SOA)? I've never seen that before, granted I'm fairly new to the offroad world.

              Thanks

That's gotta be for axle wrap! those are so right outta a 73' mustang rearend... when you drop the hammer, those will come up and hit the springs and keep your axle from wrapping the springs all the way 'round!

                  cool.

                  rock grabbers though...

The axles are probably right out of a '73 mustang rear-end. They DID run 8.8's back in the day.

Oh! It's the CARR Folding Rotabar!! You can find it on any large retailer website. I think quadratec's got em...but they seem kinda expensive.
