Black is referred to using the letter K (rather than the expected B) for key – a shorthand for the printing term key plate. This plate impressed the artistic detail of an image, usually in black ink. This use of the letter K also helped avoid confusion with the letter B as used in the acronym RGB.

the K stand for black or key. if you used a B they could be confused with blue( U ) or brown ( N ). And well its unexpected cuz well black doesnt start with a K :p or key is not a color.
to slow next answer: William Blount was the first NC signer of the United States Constitution

not part of the questionaire...but Rubber is NOT in fact called rubber because of the tree it comes from. No, the tree is named AFTER the substance it produces! Rubber is called rubber, because it's original use was a sealant for large shipping crates. They found that upon "Rubbing" the substance on certain other substances, like graphite or charcoal they could "Rub out" certain things...so that leads to another thing. Erasers are a modern term. "Rubbers" were the original term for something you used with pencils, which weren't originally common, as they were harder to make than pens, and originally weren't surrounded by wood...just long sticks of hardened graphite. It is actually rubber that made the use of pencils more popular.WTF Mate?

“Fourteen couples traveling on Titanic were on their honeymoon, nine in first class. There were also young, brides-to-be sailing to America to start a new life there. As you might recall, Rose was among this group.”Last edited by atamata; 06-02-07, 09:11 AM.
