2008 liberty discussion

so it looks like the styling department of Jeep finally figured out that all people wanted was the tried and true cherokee styling to return yet again.

away goes the girly looking round headlights, front fascia, and side body profile, and back comes square everything just like AMC ment for everything to be.



of course this is just MY opinion. what does everyone else think?

I think the 2008 Liberty is actually the Dodge Nitro.

The 2008 Liberty is a Nitro. I prefer the curvy lines of the old KJ but hey I am partial to curvy women too.

I personally don't like it at all! but I never did like any of the Cherokee looking jeeps or station wagon vehicles! I like the style of Jeep wranglers, like the originals, cj's etc with round head lights!

Bob I checked the websites and you appear to be correct.

either the GOOD: the 2007 Dodge Nitro is a re-branded Jeep Liberty.

or the BAD: the 2008 Liberty is a re-branded 2007 Dodge Nitro.

that is the question.

Ha! I think it's a little of both. I never liked the Nitro to begin with. I actually LIKE the liberty design. It would be better with tougher axles, and a box frame...but eh...the cherokees and their predecessors have typically been unibodies.

I went lookin for cars and sat in the Nitro, the wife and I both looked at each other and said, "NOPE!" it just feels weird, but the seats are the same as the Liberty's and none of the ergonomics are right, I mean I drive a YJ and this Nitro is buggin' me... but the Libertys passenger seats are notoriously uncomfortable. same as the Nitro. The price is right, but the truck/car/suv/element wannabe isn't. too much Daimler I think.

my friends dad bought a nitro, with the v8 i belive, that thing has balls, but i dont think it would be any good off of road

I'm pretty sure that the Nitro wasn't built to go off-road.

Yeah...the nitro would look really funny with a lift on it! ...hmm...I wonder if even CRASH could photshop a lift onto a nitro!
