I bought this JD tractor for Rick in about 1977. He may have been a Little young but ya know how dads are. His brother Brandon then wheeled it, along with a couple cousins and then his sister. I did a major rebuild on it a couple years ago.
yeah i got/had one of those! it was identical to that one. we took it down a couple of hills, and as we broke, it broke. i think all in all, 1 broken nose, 2 arms, and alot of pride. my mom was pissed when we destroyed it. it was hers when she was little. good times-good times
Yeah...I had good times on that thing.
Don't think I ever fell off though.
Paw spent a fair amount of time fixin er' up.
worth it though its all new and shiny lookin. :shades:
Saw a few of those up at Mike's Roadhouse in Kettleman City. Certainly not in as good shape as that one. They were NOT for sale. New stamped in China pedal cars (no tractors) were selling for $299!
Anyways, just like on Antique Roadshow, the value of some things cannot be measured in mere dollars and cents. Hope your Deere stays in the family! It Rocks!
I think I have one of him riding the tractor naked. Ill dig through the old photos.
The wife says that photo was destroyed when our basement flooded. When the snow melts and I start going up north we will go through the old photos and find something cute
