...provided to entice allen and nick to visit this year.

here are just a few pics from my trip to alaska in the fall. i didn't go on a cruise but just did a bunch of random stuff. it is absolutely phenomenal and totally serene even if you venture only a few minutes from the cities. i was totally awestruck by the scale of everything. mountains are huge. landscapes stretch for miles upon miles. you definitely feel the power of the land, which is a feeling that the pictures can't do justice to.

    street in downtown anchorage

    landscape with misty peaks

    mountains in denali national park

    tundra stream

    grizzly bear

    rock crevasse

rare view of mt. mckinley (denali), highest peak in north america

if you're at all interested in going, i would not even think twice. just buy the plane ticket and don't worry about what to do or where to go. it's surreal up there and even if you do nothing the entire time you are there you may leave thinking that doing nothing could have been the best thing you did while you visited.

    enjoy.

        VERY Cool!

On my list of things to do is an Alaska trip.

However my plan is to ride my motorcycle. So I'd have to plan a timeframe rather carefully.

        Nice pic's!

it takes 8 weeks to drive from socal to barrow and back, stopping here and there for some wheeling of course.

Hmm, I think I'd like the cruise option better ... unless I retire early from work, hehe.

                          My Home State!!

Alaska is absolutely gorgeous!! The fresh air is breathtaking! This is where Kodiak Spirit and I are from - Kodiak Island, Alaska! We have around 40 acres of land for sale up there on Kodiak Island and Anton Larsen Island (family founded/named/owned). It is prime fishing and hunting land! Kodiak is growing, they even have a Wal-Mart and McDonald's now!! lol

We have tons of pictures and love to talk about it. We've driven there and back several times. It can be driven in about 2 weeks from Orange County to Anchorage. I'd really like to drive the Yukon Highway in my Jeep, maybe someday. There are lots of sites to visit on the way like Flintstone Park, which is really like the cartoon!!

There Summers are like our winters. The best months to visit are May - July when it is daylight majority of the time! They also have the best berries ever - Salmon Berries. They look like raspberries, but taste so much better! You can just pick them along the trails for a quick little snack.

If you ever get the opportunity to go, I definitely recommend it!!
