california structural/civil engineer?

i am in dire need of an engineer for my residential addition.
the city is giving me a hard time and wont look at my plans without one.

I have one (a Civil Engineer) here on my jobsite in Tustin. The company name is DRC, Inc (Developement Resourse Consultants, Inc.), based in Anaheim Hills. We're building about a mile and a half of 'backbone infrastructure and road', but I'll ask him if he does anything residential. This guy's been doing it for MANY years! Anything (details) I can take to him to start with to see if this is something he might be able to help you with?

He's not registered, and said you will need a licensed engineer, which he is not (even though he's a senior designer for an engineering firm) so he can't help... sorry Erik! (Oddly enough, his name is Eric!)

Bad news on my lead. Found out that they only do large commercial projects. Hope one of your other leads works out for you! :thumbs_up

well, i think i got this all worked out.
i found an enginner, and will get the plans back into the city. i hope to get this damn prject moving pretty quickl.

boy, those engineers like to overbuild things
so much for type V construction. it seems my material and framing costs have now doubled.
at least i can be confident that this will never fall down. hell, it wont even wiggle

more damn hold downs and type 15 shear panel than you can shake a stick at.

he says that he is unsure how much or where the existing shear panel is so he's designing the new area to carry the entire house

either way, i sure hope the prick at the city hall will take these and let me build this damn thing. iun out of patience.
