        Every new generation of off-roaders seems to need to "re-learn" this. I started wheeling with my dad over 30 years ago. Old coot that was teaching us the ropes had a method of dealing with straps with hooks. He'd ask to look at it, then tell you "the problem with these is that the hooks fall off - even in camp"

        Then he's cut both hooks off with his knife. Real sharp knife - you could shave with that thing
