  • Big News!!

Hey all. I was going to wait and post this when the lease is signed, but its looking very good right now and with any luck, we will be signing in the next week or two.

Anyway, Kevin (flexjeeper) and myself are getting ready to go into business and open a restaurant. We found a fantastic location here in Ocean Beach. Its a block off Newport Avenue (main street here in OB), a block from the beach (right behind the main lifegaurd station), two blocks off of Sunset Cliffs blvd (the main road into OB off the freeway), and 6 blocks from our house! the location itself is about 4,000 square feet, should seat about 150 or so, has a huge bar, great layout, and even a 12 spot parking lot! the rent is pretty damn good too.

So the restaurant will be a microbrewery and sports pub featuring5 of our own beers (to start. 4 full time beers, a gold, an amber, a pale, and an IPA, and a seasonal brew) and the rest of the taps will feature other locally brewed beers. We are looking to get around 25 TVs, at least ten of which will be 42" Plasmas. we will carry all of the DirecTV sports packages and COX sports as well.

We have a great menu worked up with some killer selections. All MJR members will receive a discount of course And we will probably, at some point set up a monthly Jeep night or something along those lines.

Now, obviously this is going to be a big venture for us and its going to take alot of work. We have some friends lined up to help with certain aspects and phases of this project already, but there is still alot of things we will need. so here is a rough list of things we are gonna need help with.

    1. A website.
    2. Employee uniform shirts and merchandise (t-shirts for the guys, tanks tops for the girls)
    3. Logo design
    4. good old manual labor for renovations and painting
    5. some booth re-upholstering
    6. we have an electrician on board, but we're gonna need a good plumber to install some floor drains

obviously this is a VERY short and preliminary list and there will be much more once we get in and get the ball rolling. If you can help with any of this stuff, post up and let me know.

Hey guys. after meeting with our attorney and going over the lease and filling to start an S-corp, it looks like we will be signing the lease officially sometime early this coming week. So here are some pictures of the location.

we want to pour concrete here in the dirt patch and set up a patio

            our 12 spot parking lot

the inside. here you can see where we need to do some tile work. We also want to lower that wall in front of the door and turn that into the host stand

the bar. we are going to re-top it for sure.

            more pics are here
            http://s30.photobucket.com/albums/c3...0Pics/?start=0

and I will take more when we get in there. questions? comments? thoughts?

Congrats guys! Best wishes for a successful endeavor. I think we can do some bartering here. I do electrical, plumbing, welding, lay carpet, have tools and will travel. When you're ready to get to work let me know and I'll tell what I need.

I might be of some use...

Being somewhat in the communications/IT field, several industries- have setup various type of systems, from Point of sale, Telephone Systems/voice mail, SCO/UNIX, IBM AIX, old XENIX (dont ask)... lots of Servers- Novell (remember Netware), Windows/NT/2003... Burglar/Fire alarms, even some video surveillance stuff.

If it ticks, beeps, buzzes, or makes a humming sound, odds are I've worked on it!

If nothing else, please feel free to PM me with any questions you might have.

If your in need of a cheap small business phone system, http://www.craigcommunications.net/ is a site I recommend. Having just installed a phone system for a church (I do a lot of volunteer work) they have low prices.

Looking forward to the grand opening!
