How to Weld Chromoly

I recently bought a set of those slickrock chromoly steel spring hangers for the front of my YJ. The stock hangers ar notoriouly weak.

The new hangers are to be welded on. I read somewhere that chromoly has to be TIG welded. Is this true or can I go ahead a use a wirefeeder to weld these onto the frame.
