No recipes or oven here, but I'd like to one of these days.

hey bill, let us know which ones work and if there's any tricks to them.

does anyone know what to look for in buying one, or are they all the same pretty much?

if you can find a ''GRISWOLD'' or ''WAGNER'' brand cast iron,i think these are the best.they were bought out by ''LODGE '' so they are collectors items too.''LODGE'' brand makes pre-seasoned cast iron.that is the protective oil coating has been baked into the cast iron which makes a non -stick surface.an old looking cast iron used pan is the best as long as theres no rust..even if theres rust you can use a wire brush and scraper and get the rust off.then coat with a coating of crisco and bake the pan itself in the oven to season it for about an hour at 350.but put a cookie sheet under and open some windows because it'll set your smoke alarms off..i'm gonna try a recipe from the sites you gave and will let you know...bill

We sure had a good time. It turned an ordinary dinner into an adventure. Tonite I'm going to try a pasta dish. Mmm, spaghetti.
