I know less then crap about computers but this picture is what I need to do. Plan to buy my son a computer for his B-day and there's just no room for a monitor in his room.
How can I hook it up to the same TV that he uses already?

the answer is: maybe
most TVs don't have high enough resolution to work as a computer monitor- the TV above is a high-definition TV, made by a computer monitor manufacturer.
if you don't want to get a regular ol' CRT monitor (look like a regular TV, very bulky, glass picture tube, etc.), LCD/flat monitors have really come down in price lately, but they are still a bit more than comparable sized CRTs. I recently got a 19" LCD from Dell for a hair over $400. 15" & 17" are even less. Oftentimes, if you buy a system from Dell (or gateway, etc.) they may be running a promotion that will let you 'upgrade' to a flat monitor for free or very little extra money. Costco, Best Buy, etc. generally have great prices on LCD monitors as well, such as: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1110263397705
