I am performing annual maintenance on my pool. After cleaning all the crap out of the filter it's time to recharge with diatomaceous earth.

So here's the prob: I need 4.8lbs of DE and I don't have suitable scales.

The helpful filter manufacturer advises that the contents of 10 one pound coffee cans will also provide the exact amount. However, I don't have a one pound coffee can either :mad:

So can anyone measure the diameter and height of a one pound coffee can for me.

Please use a standard such as inches or millimeters

We will ignore any temperature effects

It all depends on the type of coffee you drink.
Folgers 13oz
Maxwell house 11.5oz
Yuban 16oz
Budlite 12oz(empty)

This helps, believe it or not

base area x height = 69 cubic inches (give or take a knats cock)

69 cu in = 4.78 cups

I need 47.8 cups :yay:

just get a butter bowl and dump 6 of those babys in it close it up and turn it on you dont have to be right on the money , at least this works for me and i have pretty big pool
