  • Bodie

I know some of our crew was there last weekend. A lightning fire started on Sunday and is threatening Bodie

The fire has crossed the California state line and is now approximately three miles east of Bodie State Historical Park (CA State Parks), where structure protection fire engines are stationed and dozer lines are being built.
    That is scary.
    Check out .

Damn it. We camped up in the Sierras and got pounded by thunderstorms. It was crazy. I hope they contain this. It would SUCK if Bodie burned.

As a former firefighter, I can tell you that there should be a good chance to save the town because there is such light fuel around the site. If it was in the middle of a bunch of trees it would be harder to save.

Well I'm glad , it looks like they have Bodie covered. Scott and I were there on the 16th, and while talking about the weather and how nice it was, I pointed to the East and mention that the clouds over that way had me concern. You could see the clouds boiling, Kevin.
