Folks, just wanted to give you an update on things... the transplant for Evan seems to be on a fast track... Please check back soon for the donation information. I hope to have it posted here this week. It is much more complicated to do this in a way that provides all donors with charitable contribution information needed for taxes. We do have it being worked on the fast track.

    Kindest regards,
    Randy

As an update... the donation page of http://www.activecharity.org should be up and accessible later today. The site as a whole is available now....

In other news... The boys have been recently featured on www.kidsney.org whose primary drive is to encourage people to donate organs. The boys feature article can be found here... http://www.kidsney.org/inspirational-stories.html

Thanks for reading and I want to especially thank you for your support.

So we have started receiving donations at http://www.ActiveCharity.org to help the boys!

Thanks so much to those who have donated. We're on track to cover the costs of the initial procedures, which is perfect timing since we also just got the call today that we begin donor match testing on Christmas Eve!

Please do pass on the word, share the story, and help us get everyone involved. Thanks and Merry Christmas!
          Regards,
          Randy

Have you all looked into a Kickstart or IndiGoGo setup? I've seen lots of crowd sourcing for less meaningful reasons. Kalah and I's prayers are with your nephews and your family. We will be donating when I get home to my wallet. May God work in your families lives in the ways only He can.

                  Some great news...

My brother, Bryant, has completed all the tests and has been approved to donate to his oldest son Evan! The transplant is scheduled to take place during the 2nd week of February or 3rd week of February!

We are still working towards finding a donor for Eli...

I must say that we have been blessed by the generosity of our friends and family! We have to really ramp our fund raising now!

Thanks all for your support and help!
                  Regards,
                  Randy

Randy, If it were possible I would donate. Not sure your nephew would want one of my worn out parts but... So $$ it is. I wish them all the best.

Great news! Evan's transplant is scheduled for Tuesday (March 5th) of next week!

The great news from a fund raising perspective is that we are about 30% of our 2013 goal!

He manned his way through a 12-hour day at the hospital today, with dialysis then a perm cath study then a 4-hour TPA infusion. If things go right, he only has two more dialysis sessions before transplant.

A little about Evan... Evan is a huge Star Wars fan! He loves it! Loves everything about it! He has named is new kidney "Yoda"... His father, Bryant, is the donor!
                        Regards,
                        Randy

Good luck Evan & Eli!! And the whole family, no one goes through this kind of stuff alone.

Your prayers will be much appreciated!

Well... I leave tomorrow for Charlotte. On Tuesday morning, if all goes as planned, Evan's kidney transplant will be done. The donor, his Dad and my brother, will be "going under the knife" first... then a few hours later they will wheel Evan into the operating room and perform the transplant.

We are all really excited, happy, scared, nervous, and probably everything else you can think of... We are looking only to the most positive results. Your prayers, good thoughts, positive vibes, whatever you have to offer, will be much appreciated.

Check out the latest interview/video that was just done this last week.

Sitting here with my brother, Bryant, in the hospital right now, he is resting/sleeping... Bryant has one less kidney and Evan now has one good one.

I am not sure that I can actually share with you the experience over the last two days watching a father make this ultimate sacrifice to save the life of his son. I have been touched, blessed, and have learned so much during this time! Seeing the gratitude and love that Evan has for his father has been truly an uplifting experience.

Both guys got out of surgery and recovery a couple of hours ago and as you can probably tell, all went exactly as planned. Both are doing well... in a lot of pain! but doing exactly as expected and planned.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support.
