Well, I’m glad to read such a great feedback, hope producers will have interest on researching what people, real Jeepers, said about their program.

I agree, the tread light concept is not there, but nature of program is to get out with a car from nowhere… so, there is no road to follow anyways…

I agree they could use driving mistakes to teach viewers; that is brilliant…

I think they call the Jeep a car to avoid copyright and to be able to switch to any other car brand in future programs all over the world…

I’m doing off road for a bunch of years, never found “ready to use” logs under water to build a bridge… I know, it is a real TV program, they are in charge of providing “nature” materials… and we will see more of that, for people that never gets out. Is totally OK…

It’s always fun to see ideas to solve problems, some of them you read about it, but watch them work is way better…

Yes, I liked the program and they could improve some details… a great option for us!

I wrote to discovery, and informed them that Wu is a clown. I also volunteered to fill in for him for the remainder of the season. This is the reply I got:

      Dear Viewer,

Thank you for contacting Discovery Channel.

We sincerely appreciate you taking the time to write us regarding One Car
too Far and for bringing this matter to our attention. Please know that we
will take your comments under advisement.

Thank you for expressing your interest in our programming.

      Sincerely,

I think this may be a case of who you know versus what you know.

Good luck with the TV thing. Don't let fame turn you in a genius.

I watched the Glacier episode last night. I didn't know that its virtually impossible to brake a half shaft in a D35, according to the driving expert. Like he said " Its a freak thing, it breaking like that" or, my favorite " it must be a manufacturers defect"(probably closest thing to a true statement that he's made. The D35 is a defect, lol.). So, based on Bill, I'm ditching my D44 with chromo's and getting an D35. Anybody want to take this junk off my hands.
It was like that when I got here.

I haven't watched that episode yet, except for the promo. Some of those comments were part of the highlights, and deservedly so, I'm sure. Seriously, what are his other choices? Admit that his driving is less than expert, and/ or clown his sponsor's favorite rear axle?

I would try to find a D35 to trade you, but the prices seem to have skyrocketed of late. You might want to wait until Currie or Dynatrac come out with theirs.

A sideline to his off-road brilliance: he owns five H1 Hummers. His favorite is his 2006 H1 Alpha--the ultimate off-road vehicle. Probably not a bad bacon wagon, in fairness.

wait til the dana 36 comes out. It's an upgrade from the Dana 35. numerically speaking. It replaces the Dana 35's C clip and gives it a D clip instead. Should come out about the same time that Jeep decides to put a diesel under a Wrangler's hood. Dont believe all that 44 hype. They are over rated just like the PC. After all, computers are just a trend and will die out, according to my projections with in the next 2 yrs. But then again, I thought for sure that Gary Coleman was going to be the CA governor!

I loved it when Bill Wu admitted he'd never driven a Jeep before the show - and wanted to take that one home!

Well, I haven't seen the show; though many at my work thought I'd love it. "Go tell that 'Jeep Guy Chris' there's a show just for him on tv! From what it sounds like this thread is more entertaining... I wonder what the regulations are on beer consumption on TV... Toss a couple cases of beer in a couple Jeeps with Marines at the helm and nothing but open land in front of us and I'm sure we'd be a bit more entertaining to watch, not to mention the wacky survival ideas that would come about after a couple of superior D35s have been broken thanks to the enjoyment of a case.

                      And... Going to YouTube.

I watched some of the youtube clips. I'll watch it since its wheeling, but it looks as silly as the Bear Gillis stuff. That said, I've watched all the Man vs Wild I can cause I like the outdoors and he goes to great places. I hope this show will be interesting in the same respects

A broken axle makes for good tv. I'm sure they were told what the 33" tire would do to the D35 rear if they weren't smart about it.

Alrighty... I watched a few episodes last night. It for sure looks as if they were on a fire road of sorts in the jungle, but meh. Still interesting to watch and probably selling a few Jeeps for Chrysler. Over all, I'm not too impressed with it. I think if they followed the MJR crew around they'd get a lot better wheeling and "survival" footage, but they wouldn't have the required drama for t.v. unless they que'd up a fair amount of that dramatic music.

Now, about that driver??? 1. WTF is up with his hair? Is that referred to as a "Skunk Mark"? 2. Correct me if I'm wrong but in the sand, don't you want a lot of wheel spin, thus 4Hi would be best?

A lot of the time in thick sand the motor doesn't have enough torque in a Jeep (even w/ the 4L) to use 4HI and get the wheel spin you need. 4Lo in a a gear like 3rd or 4th works well. You end up with similar wheel speed as 1st or 2nd, but with the added torque of the low gearing.

Where did the show go? I thought that there was another 'all new' episode this week, but the Yukon Men is on instead.
