  • I want a newer Jeep.

I want a newer rig.leaning towards like a 1997 Wrangler and up.Maybe around $7k.Any recommendations or suggestions? What things to look for or look out for in those years? I want a 6 banger for sure.

Look for a Jeep that someone has already put a lot of fun additions onto. I am a fan of the TJ model because of the strong platform and the ease of upgrading. But if you can find an upgraded rig that has all the things that you will want in the future, buy it if it is a good price.

recommendations or suggestions: buy something already built.

      like this: http://www.myjeeprocks.com/forums/sh...hp/20624-98-tj

It's a little closer to the 10k you posted in that other thread (btw, don't double postm it's bad forum etiquette)...

I feel liberated buying something already built. I had about 3k worth of parts in the garage taking up room and time in the back of my head. The projects were large and in the way. I bought a built Jeep, sold mine (after stripping a handful of parts worth money). After selling the Jeep, and more importantly the projects for it, I'm not out much money and have a Jeep that will suit me for the next few years.
