Hatch and I wanted to share with you all a way to Honor our Fallen Heroes. Christmas time is a tradition of exchanging gifts. Remember, they gave us the ultimate gift, the gift of freedom. Wreaths Across America is an organization that takes Wreaths at Christmas time and places them on the Grave sites of our Fallen Heroes all across the United States.
The Lancaster, CA cemetery has 700 Veteran graves. They have received pledges for only 75 wreaths. We are taking the initiative and will be donating 30 wreaths. We want to see wreaths on ALL the Veterans graves. So we have a long way to go.
We will also be volunteering to go out and help place the wreaths. Spending a couple of hours a year in our lives, is nothing compared to the sacrifices these brave Men and Women have made for us. Let’s remember and honor them.
We are asking for your help in the form of donations. Each Wreath costs $15. $5 of that goes to the cemetery to support The Veterans Court in honor of our Veterans.
If you can help us reach our goal, please send payment through PayPal to, orders@safaristraps.com. Select the gift tab, and please reference Wreaths. If you can’t send $15, please send what you can and we will pool the money together and buy as many wreaths as we can. We will be taking donations up until the day after Thanksgiving, Friday November 26th.
Anyone who can and wants to come out for the Wreath Laying Ceremony, the details are:
When: Saturday, December 11, 2010. Ceremony begins at 9:00 am, but we need helpers take the wreaths out of boxes, put the wreaths on the tables and then put zip ties on the wreaths. Helpers arrive at 7:00 am. We will have coffee and hot cocoa!
Where: Lancaster Cemetery, 111 E. Lancaster Blvd., Lancaster, CA (Corner of Division and E. Lancaster Blvd. just south of Antelope Valley High School)
What to bring: A patriotic spirit!
Thank you and God Bless.
