that is odd to have any sort of teaching revolving around a religion. i didnt get anything like that until i was in catholic school.
as long as its not glamorized and a truthful look at Islam it might be a great class. non the less still not appropriate for public school where everything else like you said is outlawed... even the pledge of allegiance

I really don't see any upside to sending kids to public schools. Social skills is the biggest argument and I think there are other places to get that.

What would be better is to teach about true history and how Islam and Christianity have clashed. All the bloodshed it has caused true history.
How both religions, but Islam in particular tried to force their religion and domination on the whole world by means of the sword or any other type of violence and domination. That is the kind of stuff that conveniently gets forgotten.

What about Catholics and Protestants??? They have fought for years. What about all differences in religion. Any teaching about religion in public school is unsat.

Any conservative or Christian parents should not leave their education to public schools. If they can't pull them out, they should at least take responsibility for educating them when they're at home. If your friends are offended by the Islamic curriculum, I wonder what they would think of the homosexual indoctrination that is now a matter of California law?

Contrary to popular belief Supreme Court never banned the Bible from public schools. It can still be used to teach history, literature, philosophy, ethics, etc., but it can't be taught as "religion."

I think there are several reasons that SCOTUS' decision of Abington School District v. Schempp has been taken as a complete ban on the Bible from public schools. I'll list them in no particular order.

First is ignorance. Many public school faculty members and parents who would otherwise be amenable to using the Bible in public education think it has been banned completely.

Second is fear. The ACLU has been intimidating has used its considerable resources to aggressively litigate to the point that the above-referenced people are often very intimidated by them.

Third, Secular Humanism is practically the de-facto religion of the public education system. Many educators simply want nothing to do with the Bible.

It is interesting that the ACLU will litigate things like a student's mere possession of a Bible at school, but they take no exception to schools requiring students to memorize passages of the Quran, dress up like Arabs, and play Muslim. Yeah, they said they didn't have a problem with that. While this may seem to be contradictory or confusing to some people, there is a very good reason for it. The ACLU was founded by communists and communism has been its agenda since its inception. Probably you don't see a tie between Communism and Islam, but give me a moment. First, a couple of pertinent quotes.

"Therefore, I am for Socialism, disarmament and ultimately, for the abolishing of the State itself…I seek the social ownership of property, the abolition of the propertied class and sole control of those who produce wealth. Communism is the goal.” -ACLU Founder and Director, Roger Baldwin

“Do steer away from making it look like a Socialist enterprise…We want also to look like patriots in everything we do. We want to get a good lot of flags, talk a good deal about the Constitution and what our forefathers wanted to make of this country, and to show that we are really the folks that really stand for the spirit of our institutions.”-Baldwin’s advice in 1917 to Louis Lochner of the socialist People’s Council in Minnesota.

I just found those in the blog below:
                  http://www.stoptheaclu.com/2005/07/1...lawyers-union/

Again, Marxism and Islam may seem like strange bedfellows, but you have to understand how they operate, how they rise to power. Both have a mandate to rise to absolute power no matter the cost in human lives or whatever. Both embrace the use of deception and deceit in the furtherance of the same. In Islam, as we all know, this war is called Jihad. In Marxism, it is known as The Revolution. The Revolution, by the way, never ends.

In America, both of these religions have common enemies: Christianity and our Constitutional Republic.

Marxism strives to undermine and sabotage whatever power structures are in its way. As history has shown, Marxists will make allies with other religions and movements in order to create social upheaval and foment rebellion. When the target government is being successfully overthrown, the Marxists will seize control. Their former allies will be recognized as enemies of The Revolution, and be imprisoned and/ or executed.

It is clear to me, at least, that Marxism is partly responsible for many of the problems and policies in our country. Education is always among its first targets.

have you seen the social skills these kinds learn in public schools? Such as the kids caught in MA recording themselves on a public school bus? I concur with you and I feel terrible for those that cannot afford private schools.

However I think CA leads the way in selective intolerance. It's still terrifying and if I had the financial resources I'd be funding the suits against the districts. Until you threaten their pocket books they won't hear a word you say.

Interesting that socialism and Marxism are brought up, I in fact think they are strangely intimate with the current administration. Interestingly enough the word revolution came up, not civil war, not rebellion, revolution a circle that keeps rising over and over without end.

There are teachings that say in the last days before the second coming, the line between rightous and unrightous will be so great that there will be no inbetween. People will be forced by their own very nature to choose sides of right and wrong.

I'll assume that was directed at me and had nothing at all to do with the actual topic?

can't we have any sense of humor while having dissenting opinions and view points? it's on topic and it would be rather boring if we all agreed on everything now wouldn't it?
