That is badass, huh! I also like the low, throaty sound of the Ferrari sports cars I've had the pleasure of hearing.
I've got a copy of a jeep magazine that tells the story of a Ferrari-powered Wagoneer that the original (?) owner of Harrah's had built. Like a diamond in a goat's ass if you ask me, but that is one hell of a sleeper.
Ok, just found the mag. It's the Sept. 2009 issue of JP Magazine.
Yes, it does have 4wd, kinda.
The owner was Bill Harrah himself. He had a collection of over 1400 cars, a full-time staff of automotive geniuses, and this was a custom commuter. Supposedly the donor Ferrari 365 GTC/4 was totaled by one of Harrah's salesmen. The engine is a 268cu DOHC V-12 that makes 365hp at 6000 rpm. The tranny is the Ferrari's 5-spd. The t-case is the original Quadra-Trac. Top speed is 140mph.
The original Jerrari had a Ferrari front clip on a Wagoneer body, but Harrah didn't like that. He had it replaced with a basically stock Wagoneer body. It's orange with wood panel inlays.
Weird! According to the JP article, that's sporting a small block Chevy now. Probably works better with the gearing anyway. I gotta say they did a pretty amazing job of merging the two vehicles.
Found the JP article online. Here it is, with Jerrari II.
Oh and I looked up the Ferrari 365 GTC/4. That's not it on the front of the green Jerrari, so the story about the donor car getting wrecked might be true. Here is a gallery of the Ferrari 365 GTC/4
that video is great! my favorite part is the expression of concern on the womans face on the beach as the f-1 car goes by. that noise is angry and startling
