how to ship a soft top

I have a OEM soft top with bows that needs to go from so cal to NM. The bows limit my options due to size. any suggestions?

I've shipped a few using bicycle boxes.....go to a bike shop and ask for them to save a box from one of their builds

you shipped the bows in a bike box? The issue I'm having is that one of the bows is like 5'wide x 3' deep and is in 1 piece

sorry, on a early cj the bows come in two pieces :oops:

guess you could wrap it in shipping plastic, mark it fragile and send it UPS/FEDEX

Simulate a custom box with multiple pieces of cardboard placed around the top, lightly tacked together with tape and then mummify it with a whole lot of plastic stretch wrap. It's cheap enough you can use a whole roll if you want. I've received odd-shaped items this way like tire carriers. But I'd check with UPS or whoever to check their requirements.

I ended up cutting up 2 boxes and making 1 big box to fit everything. I appreciate the comments.

About $150 just for shipping.

if you use Greyhound it should only cost $60. My buyer opted for Fedex
