A FB friend of mine sent me this post. FYI EVERYONE ► There's a site called spokeo.com and it's an online phone book that has a picture of your house, credit score, profession, age, interests, how many people live in the house and who they are.

I checked this out and it is true.

Remove yourself by clicking on "Privacy" on the very bottom right. It then asks for the URL of the page with your info on it, copy & paste it. You do have to put in your email address...you'll get an email where you have to click on link stating you want them to remove your info. It does remove it right away.

Yup way to much information, that is why I do not fill out any personal information in profile sections of any web forums.
Pretty much all web forums are constantly searched bu web spiders to mine for information.
Also if you remove yourself from this website use a e ,ail that you use for your spam or junk e mail. I would not be surprised if your spam count goes way up after giving them your e mail address

Strangers do not know your address and who all lives in your house, seems to me this website could use some sueing. Public information or not posting this stuff for everybody and selling the more sensitive information to anybody that wants it is pretty irresponsible.

I have several friends that work in (yes I have done it too) asset recovery and process serving and other nice neat things.
Most of these sites have old and out dated information or just plain wrong info like most information brokers do. Most are not a real threat but just want to climb inside your back pocket. However,... if you do not want to be found fall off the face of the earth because in reality if you have any kind of life there is a data/paper trail...period.

That Zabasearch one is scary too. The only way to have your info removed is to fax a copy of your driver's license over with your picture and license # scratched out. Not if that is something I want to do...

My wife found this site a couple of weeks ago and removed our names. I just checked again and there are 24 of me within a 20 mile radius. Damn shelf name.

I exist, and it's fairly current info. I tried to remove myself, but it would not accept my interpretations of the silly scramble code. Not sure it would do any good anyway, per this statement:

"You can also remove your Spokeo listing from public searches for free. Please note that removing your Spokeo listing from public searches does not remove your information from the third-party data sources. Your information will still be shown on other people search sites, and you will need to contact those third-party sites one-by-one, or use ReputationDefender to protect your online identity.
