Anyone here run Dusy Ershim? Looking at doing it in July. 31 miles of Rubicon-like scenery and obstacles. Just looking for some insider input on what to expect and recommended minimum rig equipment. Done a lot of Google searching, which has helped, but the more prepared the better!

Did you check the trail report section? There have been a few runs. Art just did one. Here the report from when I went. I can tell you one thing...it's beautiful.

Yup gorgeous scenery, lots of rocks and tree obstacle avoiding, gorgeous lakes to waste the afternoon at and watch beautiful sunsets. Very nice wheeling and camping
We went in September, just after labor day and that seemed to be about the perfect time for it.
33" tires or bigger and lockers make it a not terribly hard trip, you can do with less but that makes some parts a struggle. Nor do you want to break stuff, it's a pretty long walk back to civilization

Thanks for the input. Most of our rigs are on 33s or bigger and at least half have lockers or L/S diffs.
Thanks again... now onto the planning phase.

JJ you going up with your club or just as a smaller group?

With Limited slips or open diffs expect some strapping or winching or at least slow going. We did the first half of the trail in about 7 hours and passed 2 guys on thompson hill one had a TJ on 33's and open diffs.
They showed up at the campground we stopped at about 4.5 hours later and those poor guys were beat, his buddy with a locked Toyota had to drag the TJ halfway up the hill

You want to plan to be three to four days on the trail. Lots of neat places to camp, fish and just see the beautiful scenery.

SMALL group. We (mainly Hatch)have'nt set any dates yet because of snow pack depending how this winter goes. We can keep you in the loop and see if our dates work out and all go together. Or just call me!

You do understand that traveling with Hatch on that trail may take a little longer....he is a fishing FOOL. He will fish every place with water and usually catch something. And yes, he does share.
