I'm a little upset that this 'dreamliner' is not even a Hybrid! I mean can't Boeing step into the age already? The years of big gas guzzling suv's is over, they need to deal with it!

Boeing: still fossil fuel dependant!

They are 20% more fuel efficient! And that article also said it was a 787.

It was the 787, and as a Boeing employee I am STILL letting out a huge sigh of relief. Maybe now our stock price will start to recover

I wonder if I'll see one here (788) in ANA colors in Q4 2010 as predicted.(supposed to be the first ones out the pipe)

..still wish they'd built the Sonic Cruiser - but at least I have the RC version

It looks like it will haul between 250 & 300 according to the article.

It's a very cool advancement. It would be nice if that resulted in savings that could be passed along to the consumer with lower airfares.

                      Yep. The "best selling" variant is the 788 (787-800), that's a 210-250 passenger model. 783 is 290-330, 789 is 250-290.

My bad on the link, couldn't work it from my 'secure computer' at work. I had to watch the thing on CNN, and I didn't catch passenger capacity.

That's pretty cool, 210-290 souls, the wing flex was kinda freakin' me out though...

The CRX? they just add 2 more handels and lower it into the ground...

My guess is that particular peculiararity will require a training program for the pilots to 'splain

I'd say that's about 40 feet of flex. I think my Jeep may have a little 'Flex envy"

maybe the wings were not full of the normal amount of fuel? I dunno, but it was freaky.
