That's a bummer . . . I've been to that little store/cafe a bunch of times. Hopefully it'll some how make it thru. Last time I was up there I we were chatting with the lady working there about the last fire that had come thru the area. Seems like every year we lose more and more of our wilderness areas.

:hijack: I am soooo glad I got that Hybrid! I don't know what I would do if I had to light those backfires! all the pollution it puts in the air? OMG! I am sure that now that I'm driving my new Hybrid the air quality will clear right up! :2:

and yeah, we are getting the snow out here in Helendale, it sux, and the kids can't do PE or anything.

I have been working in La Canada. Came out yesterday for lunch and truck was covered. I could see people running around in masks all day there. Will see if I have any good pics.

I met the owner of the cafe yesterday at my work. I have met her sons (Otis and Jim who run the cafe) lots of times before.

Unfortunately, she said she doesn't want to rebuild. She said, if they do, it'll be her sons doing...she is just too old.

I told her that a lot of Jeepers will miss the place and thanks for all the years of service.
