  • I'm alive and some-what well...

[COLOR="Sienna"]Well, for anyone interested, Barb and I have landed on our feet here in Michigan. I miss home.

Barb's broken ankle makes a lot of extra work for me, but I don't mind. She was a trooper and drove the Liberty home in spite of the pain, I guess I can clean the cat litter more often.

Everything is wet here... our first night home it stormed like nobody's business. The YJ had about an inch of water in the bottom of it.
Note to self: Find plugs in floor and pull them out. Or make some. So, since the soft top isn't in great condition, I'm checking the boards or a good used one. For now I have a tarp I'm gonna bungee cord over the top of YJ. [That's a Michigan fix]

Apparently everyone back here was expecting me to bring the CJ home too. One person has saved me a front Dana 44 with passenger diff, and my uncle has said he'll help me wire up a Vortec V6 into it. I guess I just have to buy the engine. (ha ha)

I already miss everyone out west, people here think I'm crazy for not wanting to drop a V8 with 2-ton axles and 44"+ tires. "Rock Gardens" here are in the 2ft height range. But I take what I can get I suppose. At least it's not MUD

Okay, well I'm going to take off and do some "father's day" stuff. Just thought I'd drop in and say "hey".

    See ya!

[COLOR="Sienna"]The irony here Art, is that I left the CJ5 in California. I didn't bring it home with me...yet.

But thanks for your well wishes and I hope I can get out on a trail here soon. My guess is it won't be very exciting, but just enjoy the woods and company of other Jeeps.

Thanks & Happy Father's Day to you too!

                Hey Nick,

We're going to keep a light on for you and Barbara - for when you've had enough of Michigan winters!

It's good to read you arrived safely. I sure hope Barb feels better soon.

Post up some photos of any Michigan runs you go on. I have no idea what it's like to wheel there.

Nick/Barb, come back soon. We need more people like you in CA. Nick, If you get through some CS schooling and are looking for a job dealing with Linux embedded systems, let me know. My company is still growing. I was the 18th employee 4 years ago and we now have somewhere around 55!
