  • LAST MINUTE: High Desert's Anthony Adams Mobile Office Hours TODAY 2.18.09

I know this is totally last minute, but I'm going to march over there and give his staff a piece of my mind this morning.

"By holding office hours in the High Desert my staff will have the opportunity to provide community members with the personal access they deserve from their local officials," said Adams. "I hope that people will take advantage of this very valuable resource."

Adams' staff will be located at the Apple Valley Chamber of Commerce from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and the Hesperia Chamber of Commerce from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. bi-monthly on the third Wednesday beginning February 18, 2009.

Bah, those people are good at arguing and justifying their points. Unfortunately I was there for an hour and was the only constituent there. At least I had the undivided attention of two people from his office!

In a nutshell, the budget for CA is soo soo soo bad (this they stressed over and over), that if they don't figure it out, CA will go insolvent, which is against the state constitution. But overspending isn't? Oh wait, that's the democrats' fault! So Anthony Adams will vote YES for TAX HIKES based on the fact that there will be spending caps and cuts. They fear that if the budget is not figured out, a federal judge will come in and that will be much worse.

But believe them, ADAMS IS A TRUE CONSERVATIVE. I warned that a YES vote would have him removed from office, regardless of the rationalizations.

They carried out their points, and even though I don't agree with them, at least my voice was (I think) very loudly heard. Perhaps we can get a group of people together for the next one, and show them that people do want to be active in their governments. I think it would make a big difference.

P.S. They also mentioned the Fed printing up money as they feel like it! Wow!! This is becoming a popular topic!

Let's see the Fed printing money, banks and the Fed rewriting mortgages to cheap, fixed rates? Can we see lots of inflation followed by more bank failures in our future or should we just worry about that later?

            Alaska's success is ignored!

The state of Alaska is doing fine, how could that be?

They have chosen in California not to tap their own resources, ignoring all the harm that they have done to their state and to our country. If they tap their own oil resources, they could pay for all of the budget problems that they have. But they don't. They chose not to make money on their own resources. They chose to spend the money that they wanted to spend on things they didn't need but wanted to have. They decided that they were going to socialize their state and they're asking the only people who recognize it to ignore how they got into this mess and vote for an additional $25 billion in tax hikes and borrowing. They were asking the only people who are drawing a line in the sand and saying, "This is insanity!" They are blaming it on them and saying, "You just won't let us fix this problem." That's like having the arsonist stand outside of the house and the arsonist pointing to the fireman saying, "He won't give me any more gasoline. I can stop this fire!"

Alaska tapped their natural resources. They didn't spend their cash when times were good. Now they can handle whatever comes their way and they're still putting more away and giving a share of oil revenues back to the people all at the same time. California won't even give their tax refunds back, money that Californians paid in taxes, overpaid, California's sending them an IOU. And yet the media and many Americans look at California as sophisticated and progressive and smart, and Sarah Palin, well, she's crazy.
