CAMPGROUND HOST NEEDED

Ramona, California- February 17, 2009…The Palomar District of the Cleveland National Forest will be accepting applications for the Observatory Campground Host position. The campground officially opens on May 1st. To get more information about the position or submit an application, please contact the Palomar District office at 760-788-0250, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
What is a campground host?
The ideal candidate would be someone physically able to perform basic campground maintenance such as, cleaning of fire rings, shower units, restrooms, and campsites. The host needs to be able to answer basic questions about regulations and recreation opportunities. The schedule would be a 5-day work week, including week-ends.
This is a volunteer position beginning in early May through the end of November. There is no pay but an RV campsite will be provided along with electricity, phone service, propane, water and sewage facilities. A bonus is the opportunity to spend the summer in the natural, woodland setting in a campground on the National Forest, meeting campers and Forest visitors from all parts of the country. Qualifications include: having an RV; being interested in people; having the gift of gab (bilingual is a plus) and some knowledge of the area; and, having a love of the outdoors.
