that thing takes some damn nice pics! i like the fuzzy background, and the chrystal clear target... very nice!

Great depth of field. Hard to get on a digital and takes some knowledge with an SLR. It's also good with low light subjects. 8 megas? I remember when I bought mine 2 years ago and 4 was considered out of the range of most cards.

Right now I use a Minolta X-700 and Nikon N80 for film. If I were to choose a DSLR for arround 1k, I would go with the Nikon D100

D100 is 1400 last time I checked.

Wait for the D70 the new camera that puts it in the price range of $750 for a Digi SLR!

The D100 will be getting replaced shortly as well with a bigger better camera. The D70 has all the feature of the D100.
