  • Pig Time!

Well the Jeep won't be finished till monday afternoon, so if I can't go Jeepin, I'll just go to my friends house and cook a pig. My friend Chris is having a party today for about a hundred people and we threw a 110 lb pig on the new rig he made. We started at 3:00am and dinner is at 4:00pm. Not quite like Jeepin but it will do.

Happy Labor Day weekend to everyone!

    Mitch

    Mitch,

So how did it turn out? I thought maybe the pig was a little too high above the coals to cook all the way through. I'm speaking as a trained professional of course

      Roger,

It was perfect! The pig cooked for 12 hours and was 170' when Chris removed it. A blend of charcoal and apple wood was used for the cooking / smoking. Chris also had Tri-Tip and ribs going on the 2 smokers as well as chicken on the Weber Grill. Quite the food event.

          Chuck,

The pit is portable and I'm working on a Jeep BBQ and Party at my place real soon with plenty of notice. As you might know, my previous hobby was Competition Cooking and Chili Cookoffs. So it will be an event not to be missed. Details soon.
