If the ticket is for oversized tires you have to change the tires and take it down to the station and show them. I would call and ask about putting bigger flares on. You can bolt on some cheapies long enough to get the fix it ticket satisfied. But you have to call the police or state troopers or who ever gave you the ticket. Usually it's a fix it ticket, one way or the other.

If the yj and tj are the same take them off your tjs and get the ticket signed off then put your originals back on.

Did you actually get a ticket for that? Usually if you have some sort of flare, cops won't nail you on it unless they pulled you over for something else. It's pretty uncommon to get popped on that alone.

Wow, aren't you the lucky one? You may have to do rear flares and tires to get the ticket written off. You can slap a set of used TJ flares on the rear and borrow some tires and wheels to get it handled. Check with a local 4x4 shop and tell them your situation. They may have a set of stockers sitting around that you can borrow or rent.

Dude that really sucks. Sorry to hear that you're gettin' hassled. I'd bet there are more than a handful of guys around with a set of stockers sitting around . . . you could probably just borrow them for a couple hours to get it written off, or you could probably buy a set real cheap. I think you should get a set of worn down 29's and roll in true Hillbilly Deluxe style

                      Ray,
I'll make you a set of fenders. They'll be ready in December... How much is the ticket? It's not a moving violation is it? It should be a fix it.

                        Ray,

If the tires are just too big, maybe they will fit on my YJ!!!!

But seriously, help us out with the details, was this freeway and CHP or was it your local Colton PD? My mechanic Ken just got popped for no mud flaps on his 6 inch lift TJ with 37's while driving up the Cajon Pass on the 15 Fwy. He was not happy to fab some temporary flaps just to get it signed off.

Gosh it must have been a slow crime day. All the crime in California and you get popped for oversize tires? That's as stupid as the crime of skateboarding....
