  • Any Guitar Players besides me on MJR?

Since I'm allowed to post anything off topic I thought I'd ask the question! (I need a break from the politics!)

Besides my love of the outdoors and getting there, I also enjoy playing guitar, singing, and song writing. Although I haven't written anything in quite a long time.

    I play:
    1. Takamine EG 332-C Acoustic/electric
    2. Early 70's Fender Staratocaster into a pre-CBS Bassman amp.
    3. Regal Resonator Guitar (Dobro)

I love blues, 40 to 60's "Grand Ole' Opry" type county music, bluegrass, gospel, classic rock.

    Anyone else play?

    I play

not regularly anymore. My husband took the two Takamines in the divorce. I kept a classical guitar, but it sits in the corner.

    Bluegrass rocks on the trails!

Tam - I played every Sunday morning for years, but I haven't played too much in the last year. However I've been playing a lot this last month because I'm hosting a night of acoustic music at my home next weekend with a number of my musician friends. Sorry about your loss in the divorce.

Rat - Air guitar doesn't count - no matter how quick of a learner your are.

Tomb - Guitar Hero counts even less that air guitar - sorry.

Giffer - I'll bet that '54 Martin sounds sweet. Too bad you are so far away...

              OK Roger,

I guess that tenor sax is out too! I might have to stop by because I know that Leanne will have a lot of tasty goodies for the players!

I know that Sunday is church day for you, but I'd like to drop off my DOORS in the morning (6-22-08) if it's OK? I'm going to Silver Reef Mine, Lester Dale Mine, Santa Fe Mine, and hopefully Blackhawk Mine all in your backyard! It will be early, but I'll be quiet!!!!

Roger, I had no idea. How cool! I figured this thread would be about Guitar Hero

I have a guitar but don't know how to play it. Maybe I can hire you for a lesson, hehe

                    Hey Sarah,

To really learn how to play the guitar, you almost have to OCD it. If you can devote at least 20 minutes a day, 5 to 7 days a week, you can learn the guitar.

When you are serious about learning, let me know!

I've always wanted to learn to play the guitar. Especially now that I'm camping a lot agian. There's just something about sitting around a campfire, nursing on a bottle of whiskey, and singing along to some ole Tom Petty or Bob Dylan songs. Everything sounds good after enough whiskey
That which does not kill me postpones the inevitable.
