  • Should he fry!

So I am having a bit of a moral dilemma…Looking for some advice.
So a guy I know off of another message board has opened up a shop. Now I wish him nothing but the best. It takes some cajones to open up a shop. Never mind given the current state of the economy.. As I was sending him some referrals I decided to check out his new website. I decide to take a look at his “builds” and under his pictures what do I find????? Pictures of my stuff that I built. I’m not talking he took pictures of it, I mean my actual Build pictures, re hosted on his web. No he didn’t help, no he didn’t have anything to do with it. Heck I didn’t even know him at the time. Could be a mistake, hmm maybe. But its captioned “stuff I have built in the past” I am pretty pizzzed off. Myself and the BS Fab crew worked hard on that build. Now I have no problem with somebody using my ideas and designs. I wouldn’t post them on the web if I did. But to host my build pics and then claim them as their own!...... I am pretty sure he doesn’t come on this site so That’s why I am asking it on here. Plus I find this crowed to be very level headed. My crew wants me to hang him out to dry…Call him out on all the boards he frequents and is pimping his stuff. Mainly feed him to the wolves of Pirate4x4. What say you my MJR friends????

Call Quido to send him swimming with the fishes. But really, visit his boards and openly ask him whats he doing. If he's already profiting from his false advertising take him to small claims and alert the better business bureau

I'd ask him what gives. He may have mislabeled pics in his collection and needs to correct it. Your pics may be placeholders or something while he builds up his site. Lots of things could be going on. If he's deliberately misrepresenting himself to boost his rep, he deserves to burn. I'd try to get the story first though and give him a chance to do the right thing.

Well if this guy for real, I mean knows what he's doing your efforts won't make a difference. Do nothing at this point, let time take its course. If he not for real he'll do himself in w/o your help, again time will tell. Karma, you know how that works out. Besides you won't be sending him any referrals, anymore.

So your justifying not calling him because his does do good work even though he's falsely using your pictures.

That really sucks. Give him a call, I'm sure he'll take it down, or maybe even give you a really good explanation on why he thinks it should be there (not that there isn't one, but SOMETHING had to have been going through his head at the time, maybe not) I don't think it's a wise idea to start a pissing match on the boards, especially this one. If you do decide to do that however, be as rational as you can. Don't name call, etc, because it just brings you down to his level. Drink a beer, take a nap, whatever it takes - just make sure you are calm when posting. And it might be best received by the audience if you just do a "vendor review" on him, hehe :cactus:

I’d call him and ask him why he is posting pics of your build on his site. If it is a mistake (which I doubt) and his cool he’ll pull them. If he’s a dick about it call him out on the board.
                        Check out .

call him on the phone, or email him privately and give him the benefit of the doubt if he is even remotely a friend.
if he doesn't respond in a way that is satisfying to you, then hammer his ass!

                            i had a similar experience with ******.
he actually used one of my photos from the net, and had it in the MAGAZINE as if it were his lift.
                            this was some time ago.

i called him in an attempt to make it right, and he basically told me to pound sand .
not having the time nor patience to deal with it i let it go away.

                            good luck with yours.
