What is the difference between 6.0 and 7.2, other than cubes. Is the engine config different? I'm a GM guy so ford is greek to me.

6.0 was a "new design" ford came up with that failed. The 6l were only used for a few years then gone..... Everyone I know that has one has had nothing but problems.

Ditto. In my old tow truck company we had a 2002 with the 7.2 that ran great, no problems, but then we got a few newer ones with the 6.0 and had nothing but problems to include the turbo leaking coolant into the intake. The trucking was slowly losing coolant but we could'nt find the leak for nothing. Then finally the turbo took a big crap one day and it all came to light slowly after the dealership tried to screw us and say we got bad fuel. Big lawsuit, bad service, the works. Real simple, google "ford 6.0 problems" and you'll get an answer.

Thanks. The truck we are looking at only has 25,000 miles on it and it has the 100,000 mile warranty. I have also heard that if you leave them stock they have a lot less problems.

All the problems that I've heard of have been with stock vehicles. If your getting a good deal on it there's probably a reason. Good luck.

Call Dan at http://www.freedom-diesels.com/. He'll answer any questions you have about diesels, specifically that crappy 6.0L. When he was selling trucks, he refused to sell the 6.0L. Part (only part) of the reason he stopped selling trucks was because it was getting harder to get GOOD diesels in.
