    hey ya'll

whats your favorite in-jeep (carried on the trail) tool or recovery item? and in jeep could also include bolted to the roof, the side, the bumper. prettu much anywhere.

i have two favorites. my first is my tow strap, its around 45 feet long, 5 inches wide. has a huge shackle on one end and a giant metal triangle on the other. it was used to hoist trees under helicopters in the forestry industry, so im not sure what its rated too. the second is my great uncles ww2 foxhole shovel, its still as good as the day he dug a foxhole in the rhineland with it. and i figure if it could dig out jeeps in 45, then it can dig them out in 08. pics to come.

    so whats yours????????

I just got mine. It's a recovery strap from Target. It's only rated for 10,000lbs but it's self retracting. It fits between my roll bar and the body so I never have to untangle it or pack it or unload it. I'd get a heavier duty one in a second.

My favorites include a 20' long 25000lbs. tow strap with 2 shackles, my Hi-lift (duh), and the 10000lbs. Red Devil hand winch behind the back seat. Oh, and the camera for those "you just had to try it one more time" moments...:bonk:

A roll of 5-50 cord, and 100mph tape. Can pretty much fix anything on the jeep and get you unstuck
