Basic info-
first up know there are only 350ish questions they can pull from for your 35 question, multiple choice, tech exam (the one you will be taking to get your licence). oh and did you know you can have access to the questions and the multiple choices along with the answer? already sounding alot easier huh?
go here for all the questions just as you will see them on a test and all the correct answers:
http://www.ncvec.org/page.php?id=356
how to study for the test-
1. download all the answers and read them. some people delete all the wrong answers so you have all the questions and the right answers to read through. i have this list. pm me if you would like it
2. download the schmatic drawings that a couple of the test questions will reference
http://www.ncvec.org/downloads/2010%...20Graphics.pdf
3. go to http://www.qrz.com/xtest2.html?
take the technician test. do tests 1-14 and you will be exposed to all the questions from the pool. this is actually the way i preferred studying. i took the tests 1-14 untill i passed all of them without issue. then you can use the higher number tests as random questions tests. hit a good mix of them and make sure your solid. this took me 4.5 hours probably.
find your test station-
http://www.arrl.org/find-an-amateur-...e-exam-session
bring a pen, two forms of ID (one pictured), a copy of those two forms (probably wont need), a calculator (probably wont need) nd $14-$15 bucks. exact change is helpful since its not going to very formal.
now your legal to transmit on all the normal freqs we use offroading. you still wont know anything other then how to ace this test, but you'll have a radio and be able to learn from there
