Am I wrong or the HAM Radio's you cannot have HAM and Citizen Band on the same radio?
Go to http://www.arrl.org/arrlvec/examsearch.phtml and enter your zip code to find a list of upcoming exams near you. Some of the organizations listed will also hold classes; check to see if they list a website.

No CB (11 meter) transmit on amateur equipment (although you can listen if your rig supports it). Although most 10 meter ham rigs can be "opened up" to transmit on CB frequencies, transmitting on those frequencies (or GMRS, FRS, etc) with non-type accepted equipment (aka ham rigs) is a no-no per FCC regs.

I still have my old Uniden 520xl CB and antenna hanging out behind the seat in the truck just in case.

You might try http://www.soara.org/, the South Orange Amateur Radio Association. I think they have classes. Most clubs do.
