  • Valley of the Moon

Spent the day hiking around VOM. One of the One of my friends , his family was also was there. I played photographer. This shot was pretty cool. I couldnt swap lens fast enough but the concept is there. Lens 17-85 and 100-400.

"Ok no cell phone signal, no one can hear us, what is it you wanted to ask me?"

VOM is pretty limited for wheeling. Its just in and out. There are other trails but they are closed ( Wilderness area). For manual hiking and rock climbing its right on. It does but up to the Mexico border and the fence isnt very well marked.

Heres a KMZ marker for the VOM. You will need to hike from the end of the driving trail to get there.

THanks. Looks a lot like the obsidian dome in Mammoth, except brown.

Farther south you go these granite mounds get fairly massive. About 40 miles south of the border theres one called La Milla, it comes out of the desert floor up to about 5000ft. That complete area is granite. You can wheel in that stuff!

I don't know yet, but I want to make a trek before it gets hot again. I haven't been to Superstition yet either. It would be fun to do the Bronco Connector in the rain again too!
