  • Which Video Camera?

I'm looking to buy a decent digital video camera in the $300 price range. I wish I had more to spend. But at this time no HD or fancy stuff. Any suggestions would be appeciated. You know that I'll include you guy's in the video's!

    Mitch,

I went with the JVC. http://camcorder.jvc.com/product.jsp...Id=119&page=10

They have ones with smaller hard drives for less $$. I was sold on a hard drive and thats only what I shopped for. I've been pretty happy with it. HD is amazing but the Jeep gets most of my money so I settled for this. I haven’t been disappointed and the picture has been acceptable for me.

One of the selling features for me was the ability to plug into my VHS player and convert my videos.:2:

I like the ones with the hand crank on the side

Ok, JVC fer sher. I love mine; it's a GR-DA30U DV (uses itty bitty tapes). That's the one thing I don't like. But it was $100 bones out the door (floor model). I'm looking for a Hard drive floor model now.

If you can swing a hard drive, you should really get one. If you've ever run out of tape or accidentally recorded over something important, you'll appreciate the hard drive.

Good choice. You'll be fine with 30 GB. Also, might want to consider a lens cover to keep the dirt out of the lens. I'm using a UV filter for this. Make sure it's a slim type or you'll get Vignetting.

http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?InvtId=SC-MX20ER-OB <-- I've been eyeballing that for a while... seems like it's got decent features for the price. Hard drives have moving parts, which is why I like flash. Same features, no moving parts (for the memory portion)... If anybody has any more info on that model, please post!

Mat. click the link above then click specifications. It also uses micro sd memory card.
                  Also a link to manufacturer.
Just got <today> a mouse ordered from Newegg yesterday: Logitech MX518 Gamiing Mouse
WOW! It's still early... but I love this thing.
Been Ordering from Newegg for quite a while. [Hard drives, Bluetooths, DVD drives, PC periferals] Love that place!

                      From Wikipedia:
Mechanical vignetting occurs when light beams emanating from object points located off-axis are partially blocked by external objects such as thick or stacked filters, secondary lenses, and improper lens hoods. The corner darkening can be gradual or abrupt, depending on the lens aperture. Complete blackening is possible with mechanical vignetting.

Basically you can see the filter in the corners of your videos.

I fully agree on this one. Sooner or later everything will be solid state memory. It's fast and reliable.

I know the specs, I was wondering if anybody had any "reviews" or first hand experience with that model. :bonk: Next time I'll be more clear.

I'm sure I could find them on epinions or something, but wondered if anybody here knew about that model! Geeks.com is a block from my house, and I've been itching to buy something from them... I just don't have any money!
